Darren Beachley and Legends of the Potomac Coming to The Chincoteague Center

On Saturday, August 21 The Island Bluegrass Alliance will host Darren Beachley and his band,  Legends of the Potomac for a stage concert at  The Chincotegue Center.

The Doors will open at 6 PM and the Show starts at 7 with the opening band “Blue Marsh” followed by a 2 hour concert by DB & LotP a true acoustic Super Group.

The definition of the word Super Group: A music group whose performers are already famous from having performed individually or in other groups.

By teaming up such revered masters as Dobro player Mike Aldridge and bassist Tom Grey,   both  founding members of the legendary “Seldom Scene” with rising-star vocalist Darren Beachley,    (formerly of bluegrass powerhouse Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver) , Mandolin-est ,  Norman Wright (Bluegrass Cardinals and Country Gentlemen, and  Mark Delaney banjo player  (Country Gentlemen) such a group has been formed.

Darren Beachley & The Legends of the Potomac harness the very best of Bluegrass past , present and future. Soulful contemporary ballads share  space with more rugged, traditional fair with Beachley’s soaring tenor front and center and the tasteful virtuosity of Aldridge, Grey,Wright and Delaney steering the music with peerless precision. With their  wide-ranging influences and open-ended approach to acoustic music they pay tribute to the fertile and inventive Mid-Atlantic bluegrass scene from which they sprang.

The concession will be serving Chile dogs, pork barbecue,snacks and drinks all night. Price for advance reserved table is $20.00. Advance general admission is $16.00 and general admission at the door is $20. Advance prices will be good until the Day of the show.
