Visitors can and have fun celebrating Valentine’s Day eating chocolate treats, discovering Chincoteague merchants and destinations while ending the day with a chance at winning a great prize in the Death by Chocolate prize giveaway. Prizes range from overnight stays, gift certificates, tea for two at the Channel Bass Inn, movie tickets and much more!

Local merchants will be hosting a fun game for participants February 14 from 10-6pm. Players journey from store to store eating sweet chocolate treats with a playing card containing mystery questions supplied by each participating merchant. You must visit every location participating and answer all of the questions on your playing card or pick up a business card as instructed at each business.

The final destination is the Waterside Inn located at 3761 South Main St. where players can enter their completed card into a variety of drawings for lots of fun and valuable prizes!

Participating merchant game stops will be displaying a Death by Chocolate Player’s Poster and a convenient map of all the stops can be obtained from the Waterside Inn.     Must be 18 years of age or older to participate in the prize drawings. You do not have to be present to win but contestants are encouraged stay for fun and refreshments like a delectable chocolate fountain at the drawing held 6:30 pm at the Waterside Inn on February 14.

Bay Country 97.9 will be sponsoring a live radio broadcast of the drawing so don’t miss out on all the fun!! All prizes were donated by local merchants of Chincoteague Island. This event is sponsored by The Historic Main Street Merchants Association.
