Chincoteague Centennial Year Celebration A Huge Success
The Town of Chincoteague kicked off its Centennial Year with a celebration on March 13, 2008 at the Chincoteague Community Center. The event was a huge succes with attendance estimated at over 500 enthusiasts.
Attending were Mayor John H. Tarr, several government officials, members of the United States Coast Guard and many others. A performance by local elementary school students was a highlight ofthe ceremony.
The Community Center was filled to the brim with exhibits from a number of government agencies, local organizations, and individuals.More Chincoteague Centennial events are planned for 2008.
