Chincoteague Broadband May Be Eliminated
Residents await the outcome of a December 21 town meeting in reference to the fate of broadband internet service for Chincoteague.
Tentatively, Dewberry & Davis (Engineer), DHCD, and Mid-Atlantic Broadband Cooperative (MBC) has eliminated the spur to Chincoteague in their RFP for construction because the new bridge will not be finished within their timeframe.
Chincoteague’s town meeting is an attempt to regain the broadband project in order to improve the island’s internet infrastructure.
