November On Chincoteague Island
Two important events for birders and other outdoor enthusiasts are coming to Chincoteague Island in November.

National Waterfowl Week at Chincoteague Wildlife Refuge runs from the Saturday before Thanksgiving to the Sunday after Thanksgiving. The wildlife loop will be open to vehicles all day during the event and this a once a year opportunity to have vehicle access to the service road which extends northward into the refuge. Visitors will be able to get a close up view of many of the hidden ponds. The area is also known as a great spot to see the wild ponies, deer and other wildlife.
